How are You Improving the Health of Your HVAC Systems?

There seems to be a lot of discussions around indoor air quality and with the introduction of COVID-19 it’s more important than ever. Monitoring the Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) and the effect of Outdoor Air Quality (OAQ) is an important part of understanding your employee’s wellness.

To improve quality and consistency it is crucial to manage and monitor air quality and your HVAC system systematically and consistently. Establishing baseline data and creating ongoing inspection schedules for monitoring will result in opportunities for improvements in IAQ.

Particular attention must be paid to air filters and increasing the MERV (minimum efficiency reporting value) rating on your filters. As COVID-19 is carried by respiratory droplets, the filter must be able to efficiently filter out these small sized droplet particles. In response to COVID-19 concerns, the CDC recommends increasing air filtration “as high as possible without significantly diminishing design airflow.”

  1. Do you inspect your HVAC systems regularly?

Our Inspection App for TRIRIGA can help schedule regular inspections so you can be confident the proper items are being tracked to help ensure good IAQ.

  2. Is an air filter replacement/inspection part of your PM’s?

Our O&M App for TRIRIGA allows for a comprehensive list of items including those that pertain to IAQ.

  3. Are you using the correct MERV ratings?

Our O&M App for TRIRIGA allows for tracking of which pieces of equipment have been upgraded to filters with a better rating and which still have to be done.

  4. Do you track which filters work best?

Our O&M App for TRIRIGA can be configured to track employee feedback and coincide that with where they are located. Better filters should result in better feedback.
